Today: Indonesia General Election 9th April 2009
Today, 9th April 2009 is Indonesians headed to put their vote to choose legislators and senate (DPD). I keep stay at home because I'm not invited by local commitee. I have checked to Lurah office
two days ago and met that no my name and my wife name at the Definitive Voter List Name. :( So sad to lose my vote.
The parliament’s 700 seats are the prize for 12,000 candidates from 38 parties in a nation that for now is a largely moderate and democratic one, although Thursday’s vote is only the second direct election since since the authoritarian regime of Suharto fell in 1998, in the wake of the Asian financial crisis. Indonesia is the world’s most populous Muslim nation and the vote will determine which parties can field candidates for July’s presidential election, CNN said.
I watch on television this process and some tv station reported that many voter can not use the ballot to put their vote. Also, the unprepared ballot distribution still faces by the Indonesia general election organizer commitee or Komisi Pemilihan Umum. Let see what will going on after the votes is counted. Hope no chaos and political case arise into this nation.
